Falling into Place

Writing requires quiet time, something which I’ve not been able to find for the past two months. Thankfully, Ken supplied us with a guest blog this past month, so I hope you enjoyed his take on our time here in lieu of our one year anniversary. With so many plans behind us, it will be nice to take a breather this month. We just got done hosting my brother (who celebrated his 31st birthday with us in London) and his girlfriend, along with my newly engaged sister and her fiance, all in one weekend (not to mention traveling to Oktoberfest with 20 of our closest friends)! Their presence added so much warmth to our flat, and I loved taking care of everyone while they were here. (more…)

A Year in Review

As you can probably tell, we’ve been very nostalgic lately about our one year anniversary of living in London. It was exactly one year ago today that Dara and I landed in London and were dropped off at a corporate apartment in Marylebone with about 10 pieces of luggage but without a clue as to what the future held for us in the UK. I will always remember that specific moment as one of the strangest feeling, yet most exciting of my life. While that day feels like just yesterday, it oddly seems a million miles away sometimes.
